Jack Buckingham, aerospace engineer and founder of Buckingham Investments
Jack Buckingham · Founder, 1963
The Origin Story

An Engineer's Approach to Wealth.
It Worked Then. It Works Now.

Jack Buckingham was an aerospace engineer in the McDonnell Douglas days, working alongside thousands of others building the aircraft that defined an era in Long Beach and the South Bay.

Like his colleagues, Jack had something valuable: a stable, well-paying income. Unlike most of them, he understood what that income could unlock. He used it to buy investment property with leverage, letting rental income and appreciation do the heavy lifting while his engineering salary qualified him for the financing.

He grew his portfolio property by property. By his mid 30s, Jack had built enough passive income to retire from aerospace entirely.

But he did not stop there. Jack realized more people needed to know what he had figured out: real estate can bring you financial freedom, and a steady professional income is the key that opens the door. So in 1963 he founded a brokerage built on teaching exactly that. We have been doing it ever since.

The fundamentals have not changed in 60 years. Stable income, smart leverage, quality property, and patience. That is the whole formula.

Today
Next Generation

A new generation of aerospace professionals carries the industry forward. The formula still works.

Why This Works for You

Your Engineering Career Is an Investing Advantage

01

Your Stable Income Is a Superpower

Lenders love aerospace salaries. Consistent W-2 income unlocks better financing terms and higher borrowing power. The same advantage Jack used to build his portfolio.

02

Diversify Beyond Your 401(k)

Stocks and RSUs are a start, but real estate adds an income-producing asset class you control. Rental income, appreciation, and tax advantages your brokerage account cannot match.

03

You Already Think Like an Investor

Engineers analyze systems, run the numbers, and make decisions on evidence. Exactly the skill set that separates successful investors from speculators.

04

Time Is Your Biggest Asset

Starting in your 20s or 30s means decades of compounding appreciation and rent growth ahead of you. Jack retired in his mid 30s because he started early.

05

The Fundamentals Have Not Changed

Leverage, cash flow, appreciation. The math that built wealth in 1963 is the same math working today. Six decades of our clients are the proof.

06

You Do Not Have to Figure It Out Alone

Buckingham was founded by an engineer, for people like you. Free education, honest guidance, and investor-agents who have done exactly what you are setting out to do.
